On one of my trips back from a visit to Seattle, I travelled through the Yakima area and stumbled upon an old McDonalds in Union Gap, WA. I was taking a long way home, hitting a few photo targets for DamTour (list of dams, ride there, get the pic...damtour.com) and really needed a Diet Coke when I saw the place. Usually pass on the big chains when riding, but couldn't resist checking out a set of vintage Golden Arches.

The interior was decorated in sort of a 50's diner theme, with jukeboxes at each booth and old pictures of movie and music stars. Pretty cool place for a McD's, but I really didn't pay much attention to the interior of the restaurant. The place was pretty busy, but what really distracted me and got my attention was the Harley Davidson parked in the entry.

I checked around and there were no signs or any information posted about the bike. I checked out the staff -- the ones up front were very busy and all looked about 16. The kid who rang up my soda didn't know anything about the bike and I decided not to bother trying to ask the others. I left without any information on the history, model or year, but had to at least get some pictures.

My guess is a few of my more knowledgable friends at the VR will be able to offer a little insight into the year and model but sadly I can't offer any information on the history or ownership of the bike. Looks to be in pretty good shape, but don't know when it last saw the road, or if it would fire up.

Just a cool little find, during a good day of riding, somewhere along the scenic path off the interstate.
